I had the pleasure of filming Ashleigh and JP’s
beautiful Holmes Mill wedding in Lancashire.
We started the day with Ashleigh and all the girls. Morning preparations were busy, filled with hair styling, make-up, and lots of excited chatter. A quick visit to the boys — just two minutes down the road — allowed us to capture those essential pre-ceremony moments before heading back to the girls for the final getting-ready photographs and a special first-look moment with Dad.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful St Mary’s Church, Fernyhalgh, where the wedding was conducted by Father Stewart, who also happens to be Ashleigh’s cousin. There were so many emotions throughout the ceremony — from happy tears to bursts of laughter when the ring was briefly placed on the wrong finger… oops! It happens more often than you might think.
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to Holmes Mill wedding venue (linked), a fantastic wedding venue and conveniently just five minutes from home for me — such a treat to be working so close by. Guests enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres while socialising and catching up, creating a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. It was then time for portraits, photography by Kirsten Platt (linked) — who also happens to be my other half — making us the perfect wedding dream team.
Before long, it was time for the speeches, always one of the most memorable parts of the day, filled with laughter and heartfelt moments. Ashleigh and JP’s wedding certainly didn’t disappoint. The wedding breakfast was served, and we left guests chatting and enjoying their meal while we took a well-earned short break.
As the evening began, the room was transformed ready for the celebrations, followed by the cake cutting and first dance. Ashleigh and JP also chose to include sparklers for some fun evening photographs — a fantastic moment, and I think JP may have enjoyed it the most.
